A rainy day staple

For me that would be soup. I just love the comfort and warmth a soup offers... I know that I might have a strange relationship with food, but you can't really tell me that I'm wrong about that.

A winter and autumn favourite is pumpkin soup. So whenever I come across a new recipe for a hearty pumpkin soup, I try to put my own spin on it.

The following soup was inspired by Jamie Oliver (original recipe can be found in his newest book), especially when it came to seasoning.

But as always - I changed it a bit.

Hearty roasted pumpkin soup

Red lentil soup.

Somehow S kept craving Asian food, but I could not even stand the smell, let alone all the flavours. So we skipped any food in that general food category.
But now, I don't mind so much... Don't talk to me about sweet/sour dishes, but I am fine with anything of the "curry-variety".

A while back I read this recipe for a spicy red lentil soup. I know that the recipe called for some coconut cream, but unfortunately I did not bookmark the page. And coconut cream makes a dish 'Asian-influenced' right?

Thank you so much for sticking with me.
This is the longest I've been absent from this blog and I needed this time to get some priorities straight and deal with some major life changes.
Last September, actually two days after the last post, I found out that I was pregnant.
Though unexpected and completely unplanned the Mouseketeer is the best thing that happened to us.
We moved across the country to be a little closer to the grandparents (this was the long term plan anyhow) and enjoyed the first months with our Mouseketeer.
But now that I have the day somewhat figured out (with an 8 months old, there is no planning ahead) I really want to start this up again.
