Summer is almost over...

ah well, let’s face it.
Summer is definitively over. We are just experiencing the last beautiful sunny days, that become rarer and shorter and -honestly- colder way too fast.

I love summer and the complete change in peoples attitude you can notice during those warm, long days of hanging out at the lake with friends, barbecuing and just enjoying the lazy vacation days.

But there is definitively something to be said about fall as well. The colours are beautiful. I love the seasonal fruits and vegetables. Do I even have to talk about curling up on the couch with a good book, a hot cup of tea or hot chocolate and a cozy blanket?

What about the rain, you ask. Well, I grew up in a region with a lot of rain, so I don’t mind that at all. Sometimes it actually sends a ‘homey’ feeling in my direction. I know this sounds wierd, but that is just the way it is.

But I’m getting off topic here. I wanted to tell you about another reason to get excited this fall.

I came across a very lovely Blog (I encourage you to go and check it out) and a post talking about that reason.
Apparently there is a ‘thing’ called the National Novel Writing Month going on in November.

Yes, I know, exciting.

Or am I simply the last person on the plant to hear about that?

The concept is pretty self-explanatory. They challenge you to write a novel of over 50,000 words in 30 days.

I’m game!

I just signed up (find me here) and if you want to join (or already have), please add me as a writing buddy… because I know I’m going to need that little extra push once november rolls around.

No getting out, now that I told you all about it.

And while I originally wanted to write something about my summer, I just had to tell you about that.

But I’ll tell you all about my summer in my next post… promise!
